The Manufacturers Recycling Management Company — MRM — is a joint venture between Panasonic, Sharp, and Toshiba to encourage the recycling of consumer electronics in the U.S. Panasonic announced Tuesday that an additional 30 recycling sites have been added, bringing the total to 310 with coverage in all 50 states. These sites will accept any Panasonic, Sharp, or Toshiba consumer electronics for recycling at no charge; they will also accept other brands and types of electronics, though there may be a charge for those at some sites.

The disposal of used electronics is a major problem in this country, as these devices can contain a number of substances that can be bad for the environment.
